Description
Receipt inspectors oversee daily incoming material receipts to ensure that materials being provided by suppliers meet or exceed internal, customer, and regulatory specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Perform receipt inspection and testing of incoming materials (packaging, ingredient and container) in compliance with site processes and procedures; identify and reject materials if determined to be substandard or otherwise non-compliant with applicable regulations and/or specifications. Request and place hold tags, if applicable.
· Respond to and resolve incoming material issues by analyzing and recording deficiencies identified during receipt inspections and ensuring that they are communicated with management.
· Enter and maintain designated raw material data into Quality Utility and Sage
· Communicate any discrepancies between material specifications and Quality Utility
· Maintain and create receipt work instructions to ensure all testing methods and procedures are documented
· Maintain a safe, clean and healthy work environment by following organization, industry, and regulatory standards
Requirements
· High School Diploma or equivalent required
· Quality Control or Receipt Inspection experience with knowledge of statistical process control in manufacturing setting strongly preferred
· Strong computer skills, specifically data entry
· Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as a member of a team
· Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with other team members
· Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk, bend at the waist and stand; Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25-50 pounds. Position will frequent the production floor, so operating in standard seasonal warehouse and food processing plant temperature conditions will be required. Work is completed in a facility where nuts, fruits and other allergens are present.
