Position Summary: The Commercial Roofing Sheet Metal Technician plays a crucial role in safely and skillfully completing roofing related metal roofing, roof maintenance, flashing and all detail work. The Technician inspects projects for safety, following proper specifications, quality installation, cleanliness and workmanship.
The Blueprint for Success - Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, or replace roofs using materials such as asphalt, wood, metal, or tiles
Set up machine (calibration, cleaning etc.)
Posses general knowledge of construction materials and tools involved in assembly, installation, or repair of roofing structures
Inspect metal with precision and measuring tools
Measure, cut, fit and/or trim. Inspect for water-tight seal
Maintain project site by cleaning up project related to debris and trash
Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
Maintain activity logs
Monitor project dates
Working knowledge of flat or sheet metal materials and application methods of installing corners, pipes, roof-to-wall, etc.
Material properly stored
Experience in using warehouse equipment (eg. forklifts, pallet jacks)
Establish control measures for installation accuracy
All utilization of product is properly accounted and documented
Ensuring that safety policies are strictly adhered to
Reviewing daily progress to ensure that deadlines are met.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure driven results
Additional duties as needed.

Requirements
Tools for the Job:
Required:
High school diploma or GED
Fabrication and installation of Commercial Sheet Metal flashing
Installation of standing seam metal roof panels and flashings
Proven experience as a machine operator
Understanding or production procedures
The ability to work in different environmental conditions.
Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
Analytical skills and attention to detail
Valid Driver's License.
Preferred:
Technical degree
Experience with roll former
Proficient in the safe handling and utilization of ladders
