Job Description

We are looking for a compassionate and clinically strong Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide mental health care within long-term care and nursing home settings. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to deliver high-quality psychiatric services to a population that is often underserved yet deeply appreciative of consistent, thoughtful care.

Why You’ll Love This Role

  • Make a genuine, lasting impact by supporting the mental health of geriatric patients

  • Enjoy flexible scheduling with both part-time and full-time options

  • Experience local travel and variety while working across multiple facilities

  • Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team including medical directors, nurses, and social workers

  • Practice independently with strong leadership support—without micromanagement

  • Benefit from a predictable, lower-stress work environment outside of hospital settings

  • Focus on managing stable, chronic psychiatric conditions in a supportive care model

  • Build continuity and meaningful relationships with your patient panel

  • Choose from multiple facility locations to best align with your commute preferences

Requirements

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits

  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications

  • Collaborate with facility staff and family members

  • Provide compassionate, trauma-informed care

  • Document care in compliance with regulatory standards

Qualifications

  • Certified PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner)

  • Active, unrestricted state license

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Experience with geriatric or long-term care populations preferred (not required)

  • Prior experience as a Psychiatric RN or Psychiatric NP in a nursing home or similar setting is a plus

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation with growth potential

  • Major medical, dental, and vision coverage

  • 401(k) with employer match

  • Paid time off (PTO)

  • Additional comprehensive benefits package
