Job Description

Description:

The America Reads program is a federally funded service program, many of the students that provide service hours with the IIE are students that have work study status eligibility as classified by the business office. 

Responsibilities:

The IIE, through America Reads provides reading, homework help, tutoring and college prep at CCATE – The Center for Culture, Arts, Work and Education, located 1246 W. Main St. Norristown, PA. 

Students Tutors will travel from the Institute for Inclusion and Equity (IIE) to CCATE at 3:30pm and return to campus at 7:30pm during the week (Mondays-Thursdays) beginning mid-September.

AR Tutors/Mentors work up to 4-16 hours each week. Pay rate is $12/hr

Requirements:

  • Current full-time student at Ursinus College
  • Have a commitment for inclusion and equity within the Ursinus community
  • Have a passion for working with youth in grades K-12
  • Be organized and responsible and willing to respect community partners
  • Model sound judgment when traveling off campus
  • Have a positive and proactive attitude to support reading and college readiness
