Service Department Opportunity: HVAC Service Technician

We are seeking HVAC Service Technician’s to be primarily based out of our Nashville, TN office with travel to the Nashville and Middle Tennessee area.  Our ideal candidate for this position will have at least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role. This person will be eager to learn, have excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment. This person will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC systems with strong service abilities towards chillers and commercial boilers for our clients.

Primary responsibilities for icon’s HVAC Service Technician include:

• Performing preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment, including logging equipment readings, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters and belts, and completing proper lubrication.
• Diagnosing and repairing commercial HVAC systems, including fan coils, chillers, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, condenser tubes, VRF systems, and mini splits.
• Repairing or replacing defective components, wiring, and controls as needed.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot system issues.
• Preparing detailed work orders and service documentation.
• Installing new commercial HVAC systems and performing system upgrades.
• Responding promptly to emergency service calls.
• Communicating professionally with clients, project managers, and team members.

Primary qualifications for icon’s HVAC Service Technician include:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Certification as an HVAC Service Technician is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC service is a plus!
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and troubleshooting techniques.
• The ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints is a plus!
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
• The ability to pass a background check.
