Position: Senior Graphic Designer

POSITION SUMMARY:
You have a Pinterest board of inspirational design. Poorly typeset restaurant menus make your blood boil. You’ve never ever used Papyrus or Comic Sans in an ad. And, of course, it doesn’t hurt if you happen to be a sports fan. If this sounds like you, then this is your chance to help shape the creative for one of the most well-known brands in Canada.
As the Senior Graphic Designer, you are a creative leader with superb visual design skills and a passion for hitting audiences in the heart. You understand the thrill, energy, and sense of community that binds our fans to our brands (i.e., Vancouver Canucks, Abbotsford Canucks, Vancouver Warriors and Rogers Arena). You’re a team captain who rises to a challenge, and you’re fluent in designing for all our fan touchpoints including TV, social, digital, OOH, print, in-arena, and more.
THIS ROLE WILL FOCUS ON:
- Developing and maintaining the overall brand identity of Canucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE), ensuring a consistent look and feel for all mediums
- Conceptualizing and designing fan-facing creative to drive CSE brands and business across all integrated platforms
- Overseeing and providing mentorship to a team of designers
- Maintaining production protocol for files reflecting the most effective file-building methods
- Acting as first point of approval for designers on all design materials and ensuring all brand standards are met
- Collaborating across teams to find creative solutions
- Communicating with internal partners from first draft to final sign-off

YOU MUST HAVE:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in graphic design
- A link to your online portfolio (only those with an online portfolio will be considered)
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite software
- A strong creative mindset and the ability to conceptualize and execute net-new creative campaigns, from ideation and development through production and execution
- Excellent foundation in visual design disciplines: composition, colour, layout, typography
- Ability to handle a variety of assignments under tight deadlines while maintaining a strong focus on branding, consistency, and quality
- Collaborative, creative problem-solving skills
- Strong background knowledge of physical print and environmental production processes and practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work confidently as part of a team and independently in a fast-paced cross-team environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills

- Experience in the sports industry

This role will work on-location in our downtown Vancouver office at Rogers Arena.
