    Key Requirements and Qualifications

    Certification: Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate or eligibility for employment in accordance with Louisiana Department of Education guidelines and local school district requirements. Must meet all coaching eligibility requirements established by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA).

    Education: Bachelor's degree (minimum) from an accredited college or university preferred.

    Experience: Previous coaching experience at the middle school, high school, or collegiate level preferred. Experience working with student-athletes in areas of leadership development, team building, and athletic skill development preferred.

    Content Knowledge: Thorough understanding of football fundamentals, offensive and defensive strategies, conditioning programs, game preparation, and athlete safety protocols. Knowledge of LHSAA rules, eligibility requirements, and compliance expectations. Understanding of student supervision, athletic event management, and academic eligibility requirements for student-athletes.

    Skills: Strong leadership and organizational skills; ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes; effective communication and collaboration with administrators, staff, parents, and community members; ability to develop practice and game schedules; strong knowledge of sportsmanship and character development; ability to maintain accurate athletic records and equipment inventory; and ability to promote a positive, disciplined, and academically focused athletic program.
