Fall 2026 Student Mentor: PHI-121: Philosophy for Life with Professor Dobe

This position serves one section of the course. Before applying, please make sure you are available for at least one of the following class times:

Monday/Wednesday 11AM-12:20PM
Monday/Wednesday 2:40-4PM

You must have previously taken and successfully passed PHI-121 at Grinnell College to be considered. 

The student serves as a positive academic and social resource to others by promoting academic success, persistence and providing direction to appropriate services and staff. Must be able to maintain confidentiality with shared information and possess strong interpersonal and creative problem solving skills.

Duties:
Academic Success Center Mentors attend class, meet with supervising professor, create lesson plans, and facilitate weekly mentor sessions for students in that class. This totals a maximum of 6 hours per week.
