Overall Purpose
The purpose of the secretary is to support a specified school or department by establishing and maintaining records; compiling and distributing materials and reports; and responding to inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources.
Essential Functions
- Inputs course requests; works on drop/add; handles schedule clean-up; ensures all sections are within state guidelines; runs all necessary scheduling reports.
- Assists the attendance clerk and administrator with FTE.
- Inputs discipline to the system for administrators; ensures discipline coding is correct for state reports at the central office level.
- Runs all reports from student software to include retained list.
- Keeps current data available to the responsible administrator for the balanced scorecard.
- Inputs changes, additions and deletions to the student data records in concert with
- the registrar.
- Works with central office personnel to ensure all school data is correct throughout the year.
Physical Requirements
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to10 pounds of force as needed to move objects. Generally, the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking, and 20% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
Education/Training
High School Diploma or GED Certificate required.
Minimum three (3) years bookkeeping experience or and equivalent combination
of training and education.
