Northwest Catholic High School is searching for a High School Counselor. We are currently accepting applications for the 2026 -2027 school year.

 

Ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to provide academic advising for a broad spectrum of students, track student degree plans and credits, and provide strategies for student academic success.  Counselors monitor academic performance, develop intervention plans, and assist with course selection. The ideal candidate will have the skills necessary to assist students and parents with the college admission process, including the college application, essays, recommendation letters, and provide information on the FASFA and scholarship opportunities. Candidates will demonstrate the ability to provide quality guidance to teens and their families, provide social/ emotional support and crisis counseling to students in need. Candidates should foster a positive work environment and be a contributing member of our Academic Team. Preference will be given to those who possess strong leadership ability.

 

Requirements

 

  • Master’s degree in School Counseling, Education, or Social Work with courses included or added that address theories and methods in counseling (psychology of adolescence, career information and development, college guidance, multicultural counseling, as well as vocational, academic and career testing).
  • Counsel and monitor high school students' academic performance, develop intervention plans, and assist with course selection.
  • Possess skills necessary to assist students and parents with the college admission process (including the college application, essays, recommendation letters, and provide information on the FASFA and scholarship opportunities). 
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide quality guidance to teens and their families, provide social/ emotional support and crisis counseling to students in need.
  • Foster a positive work environment and be a contributing member of our Academic Team.
