Reporting to the Account director directly and PM Director functionally. Sr. Program Manager is responsible to lead high complexity programs within multiple geographical regions or globally, ranging from complex Application, complex Modification, Pre-development, Capacity increase, and complex productivity (VE) & complex NPI, resourcing type of projects, within a customer Team, across multiple customers (OEM) to achieve planned profitability, quality and on schedule to meet business and customer expectations. This role works with new technologies or platform development, has significant number of launches.
Key Job Areas of Responsibilities
Integrated Planning
Initiate/Create the project and scope definition including (1) planning, (2) resource allocation, (3) financial summary, (4) technical information, (5) manufacturing and (6) supplier strategy, linked to new applications development.
Develop a detailed project plan per the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) of the NPI process with allocated resources and deliverables to each step
Align the timing plan with (1) key customer engine development and (2) linked base product development key milestones
Maintain the project plan regularly with accurate data and escalate to the customer and key stakeholders any deviations to the baseline
Resources - Cost Planning and Tracking , Product Financials
Plans, secures and controls Product Cost Evolution along with Lead Engineer (BOM cost)
Plans, secures and controls Project Budget and Resources by WBS (per milestone for design, validation) for each cost category (RD&E internal cost, CAPEX, MWO, Lab Test, customer funding)
Demonstrate deep understanding of business case and price quotation
Reports accurate forecast of the project costs. Monitors implementation and escalates to the Leadership team any deviations on budget and resources
Risk Management
Assess and identify risks (technical, manufacturing, supplier, business/ cost, baseline)
Anticipate and escalate issues timely to the right stakeholders to get support
Mitigate risks (action plan and execution) in timely manner
Ensure actions are carried out within the cross-functional team
Baseline and Change Management
Orchestrate Change Management Process (GMP-1491): identify, evaluate, approve, implement changes
During pre-development phases, manage potential changes vs platform (pre-bids, during bid) through platform deviation process
During development phase, identify deviation to baseline (internal requests, customer requests). Drive with project team mitigation actions to address financial impacts (internal requests), support sales team for transactional pricing actions (BOM, FX, raw material) for customer request
During production phase, coordinate VE/Resourcing and Transition projects, End of Life and Volume/Capacity Change
Full understanding of A-spice, cover the role of 'Change Manager
Management Operating System
Implement and drive a robust review mechanism with stakeholders to execute successfully the agreed plan
Use standard project reviews with all the project team ( standard weekly reviews, Ph exit … )
Effectively apply and lead cross-functional project team standard reviews: daily: escalation TAM | weekly: project reviews (TAM2), account reviews, customer reviews | monthly: financial review| quarterly: capacity review, yearly/bi-yearly: AOP, STRAP
Lead regular project reviews with the stakeholders such as (1) Project Review Meeting, (2) Escalation meetings, (3) Deep dive review on unresolved issues
Prepare and present a formal status report to relevant committees and obtain approval at key project Phase Gate exit reviews
Education / Qualifications
University degree or Post graduation in Engineering or Management or Business Administration
Experience
7+ years experience in Program, Customer management, Engineering management, Operations Management in the automotive industry
Solid (Proficient) knowledge in program management discipline - Multi-system integration-Scope and Schedule management (and Product development/Engineering or Sales or Supply Base or Quality, Logistics)
PMP/PMI/ PRINCE 2 Certification (preferable)
3+ years experience in managing teams in challenging technical and global environments
Basic (not expert level) understanding of the product/technical background in order to comfortably handle technical topics with Engineering/NPI team
Key Skills and Knowledge
Good insight in financial drivers, at ease with relevant financial metrics Strategy and Marketing Planning (STRAP), Annual Operating Plan (AOP) experience
English Language
IT (Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP)
Knowledge of A-spice / Jira et (EV)
