Job Description

Schedule 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Part-time 32 hours per week

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Summer Youth Employee will gain valuable work experience while contributing to the daily operations of the Nisqually Indian Tribe. This position is designed to provide youth with hands-on job training, professional skills development, and exposure to various career paths.

This position ensures the confidentiality, security, and accuracy of records, and promotes positive employee, customer, and community relations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required and outstanding customer service to fellow employees, customers, vendors, etc. is expected. Regular attendance is required, and on occasion, later hours or weekend time may be required with project deadlines and a neat well-groomed professional appearance is essential at all times.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform.   • Assist with daily tasks and projects as assigned by supervisors.
  • Provide customer service and support in a professional manner.
  • Participate in job training, workshops, or mentorship programs.
  • Complete assigned duties, such as clerical work, maintenance, event assistance, or community outreach.
  • Follow workplace policies, safety guidelines, and expectations.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude in the workplace.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • Must be between 14-18 of age and eligible for the Summer Youth Employment Program.
  • Must be Nisqually Tribal Member, Community Member (Nisqually Resident), Nisqually Direct Descendant.
  • No prior experience required; willingness to learn is essential.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a structured environment and complete assigned tasks.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
