Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Christiansburg, VA is seeking a dedicated and organized Part-Time Office Manager to support the daily operations of our parish. This vital role provides administrative assistance to the Pastor, oversees office functions, and ensures the smooth running of both parish and rectory facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and update parish records and databases (ParishSOFT)
Provide general office management and clerical support
Oversee the upkeep of parish and rectory facilities
Supervise office volunteers and maintenance staff
Assist with human resources tasks, payroll, and employee onboarding
Coordinate parish calendar and manage internal communications
Support preparation of office budgets and supply needs
Provide occasional coverage for bookkeeping duties
Assist with grant applications and Diocesan initiatives
Attend Parish Council meetings and assist with special parish events
Ensure adequate parish coverage during priest absences
Collaborate closely with the Religious Education Coordinator
Requirements
Qualifications:
3–5 years of office management or administrative experience
Practicing Catholic in good standing, with a strong commitment to Church teachings
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Familiarity with Church governance and parish life
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Spanish language skills highly valued
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, walk, reach, bend, and lift items up to 30 lbs
Regular use of computer and phone
