The Patient Services Representative Job Duties May Include: 

  • Contact patients prior to their appointments to obtain correct insurance and demographic information for preparation of their medical charts 
  • Accurately enter patient information into the computer 
  • Check for valid insurance plan referrals 
  • Verify co-payments; copy insurance cards 
  • Check the patient out after the visit 
  • Collect appropriate payment and issue receipts 
  • Complete financial/payment arrangements for lab patients 
  • Batch daily registration forms 
  • Complete daily cash reports 
  • Answer patient questions. 

Skills/Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent 
  • Training and/or experience in bookkeeping preferred 
  • Microsoft Office experience preferred 
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced, high volume medical office environment 
  • Must be detail oriented, accurate and able to meet deadlines
