     Intervention Tutor:  Multiple Openings at the Elementary Buildings
    - up to 17.5 hours per week  - $34.51 per hour -  Monday -Friday

    Provide effective instruction for all courses of study at appropriate grade level.  Monitor student progress and provide intervention (remedial and/or enrichment) as needed.  Complete all records as required by the state, county and district Boards of Education.  Serve as a positive role model for students.  Work in a collaborative effort with other staff members.

    Reports To: Principal

    Employment Status:  Part Time

    FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
     

    Must hold one of the following Ohio Teaching Licenses:

     - Elementary K-8
     - Elementary 1-8
     - Pre K-3 & 4/5 Endorsement
     

    Qualifications:
    1.  Valid driver's license
    2.  Appropriate State of Ohio teaching certification
    3.  Professional tact, diplomacy and presentation with administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents and the community
    4.  Conscientious and assumes responsibility for own work performance
    5.  Good health, high moral character and good attendance record
    6.  Demonstrate enthusiasm and a sincere desire to aid all students.
     

    General Description: To provide individual instruction for approved students based on individual student need as identified in approved grants, IEP's and/or IAT process.

     

    Essential Functions
         1. Diagnose the academic needs of students approved and assigned for instruction.
          2. Interpret the materials within the child's folder from the teacher.
          3. Assess the needs of the child, drawing from all available sources, to develop appropriate educational plan.
          4. Requisition necessary supplies from the principal; make, develop or find materials to effectively implement the educational plan.
          5.Cooperate with classroom teachers in the performance of the assignment; communicate student's need with the best interest of the student in mind.
          6. Provide individual and/or small group instruction for approved students.
          7. Prepare specific lessons for each session.
          8. Keep records of the progress of each student.
          9. File required reports at the conclusion of the year including individual and/or program assessments and recommendations for future programming.
          10. Maintain objectivity and professionalism with students and parents.
          11. Implement behavior modification techniques as needed in order to promote positive behavior patterns in a fair and consistent manner.
          12. Participate in parent and annual review conferences when scheduled.
     

      Other Duties and Responsibilities:
            1. Serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings. 
             2. Help instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principals and democratic values.
             3. Conduct other duties related to the teacher's duties as assigned by the principal.

     1. Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue.  
     2. Occasional operation of a vehicle in inclement weather conditions.
     3. Occasional interaction among unruly children.
