Job Description

Faculty Responsibilities

Develop course syllabi, teaching resources, and related activities and provide instruction for assigned courses

Work effectively with the Director to develop, enhance, and promote the truck driving program

Effectively advise Consortium students

Maintain a weekly schedule consisting of at least 40 hours of combined instruction and office hours.  Student advising shall be scheduled Monday through Friday during normal working hours or by appointment

Be available to instruct a minimum of one evening course as required to assist in providing responsible and flexible access to educational opportunities for students

Assist in providing services that develop and enhance students as members of the college community

Perform all duties and responsibilities of an ArkTA consortium faculty member in a timely and effective manner

Implement and use individual and program techniques that assess learning, improve instruction, and improve program outcomes

Actively participate in professional development activities to gain knowledge, understanding, and growth to remain current in the area of instructional responsibility

Attend faculty meeting, or other official functions as designated by the Consortium

Other duties as assigned

Consortium-wide Requirements

Perform duties in cooperation with the ArkTA Consortium Director and in accordance with the plans and policies of the Consortium

Treat all students and employees with dignity

Challenge all learners to maximize their potential

Implement systems whereby all learners are given the opportunity to accept the challenges and responsibilities for learning and growing as students and citizens

Demonstrate knowledge of the responsibilities and skill required to fulfill the position responsibilities

Demonstrate knowledge and skills in using a computer as it relates to the position

Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills

Demonstrate commitment to student learning

Demonstrate effective team building and cooperation skills

Demonstrate competency in time management and organizational skills

Demonstrate commitment to the community college philosophy and Consortium goals
