A Snapshot of Your Day 

The Supplier Quality Manager at Trench’s Pickering location will play a pivotal role in qualifying, developing, and monitoring new and existing suppliers to ensure alignment with our quality standards and business objectives. This position is responsible for leading supplier qualification processes, conducting supplier audits, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional supply chain quality. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in supplier development, strong analytical skills, and a hands-on approach to fostering supplier partnerships that support operational excellence.

Your Tasks:


  • Coordinate the qualification and onboarding of new suppliers, ensuring compliance with Trench’s quality requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain supplier quality performance metrics and generate regular KPI reports to drive continuous improvement.
  • Plan, execute, and manage supplier audits, including pre-qualification, process, and compliance audits. Prepare detailed audit reports and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Plan, execute, and manage supplier audits, including pre-qualification, process, and compliance assessments. Prepare comprehensive audit reports and monitor the implementation of corrective actions to drive supplier compliance and ongoing improvement.
  • Conduct on-site supplier visits (both domestically and internationally) to carry out First Article Inspections (FAI) and evaluate manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with sourcing, engineering, and production teams to define supplier requirements, resolve quality issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive supplier development activities, including training, documentation, capability assessments, and improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance and reliability.
  • Analyze supplier non-conformances, conduct root cause investigations, and coordinate with suppliers to implement robust corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant supplier quality documentation, records, and certifications.
  • Perform material incoming and in-process inspections when required to ensure compliance with quality standards and product specifications.
  • Utilize SAP and other data systems to monitor supplier performance, identify trends, and support strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the supply chain and across the organization.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in supplier quality management or a similar role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Integrated Management Systems and relevant standards such as ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier qualification, development, and performance management.
  • Proven ability to plan, conduct, and report on supplier quality audits.
  • Proficiency with SAP, data analysis tools, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication abilities to interface with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and customers.
  • Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Solid understanding of incoming inspection processes and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical requirements to ensure product compliance.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency Act, we are committed to providing clear and accessible information about compensation for this role. The expected compensation
range for this position is $70,000 – $95,000 / Annually. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on several job-related factors, including relevant education, depth and breadth of experience, professional certifications or license, specialized skills aligned with the role, and internal equity considerations.
