    Latchkey Director

    St. Francis Xavier School is looking for a part - time energetic, high-spirited individuals to fill a position as a Director of Preschool.  If you have a passion for  and enjoy working in a family atmosphere, and love children, this is the place for you. We provide high-quality education, earning an excellent reputation in our community. This position is paid throughout the school year. 

    Responsibilities for Director of Latchkey: 

    1. Plan a variety of activities, structured and unstructured, that encourage student participation in social, recreational, and educational activities. 

    2. Provide supervision, guidance, and discipline. 

    3. Purchase supplies and equipment for the program. 

    4. Oversee all aspects of accounting within the program.  This includes but is not limited to: Making sure each child is properly registered, track daily attendance, create invoices, and collect program fees. 

    5. Plan and order healthy snacks for the program. 

    6. Monitor the safety of children and be able to account for all children at all times.

    7. Develop a procedure for properly registering and releasing a child from the program. 

    8. Oversee daily and weekly record keeping for each child. 

    9. Keep parents informed of activities and events.

    10. Communicate with parents in regard to any special issues regarding their child. 

    11. Develop a process for keeping track of payments for the program. 

    12. Supervises, schedules, and evaluates latchkey aides.

    13. Hire staff as needed. 

    14. Follow all school policies as written.

    15. Serve as the liaison between the latchkey program and the school staff.

     

    Skills/Qualifications

    • Strong organizational skills, particularly in coordinating multiple groups and activities across various locations
    • Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal)
    • Ability to manage and supervise students and volunteers in a structured environment
    • Current certification in CPR and First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
    • Completion of Virtus training
    • Successful completion of BCI/FBI
