    OVERVIEW
    The Human Resources Coordinator provides strategic leadership and oversight of all human resource functions for the school division, including recruitment, staffing, employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, licensure compliance, and policy development. This position ensures that human capital practices align with the division's mission, goals, and all applicable federal and state regulations.

    EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or a related field required.
    • Experience in school-based or educational settings strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience in human resources, personnel administration, or a related field.
    • Strong knowledge of employment law, licensure requirements, and HR best practices.
    • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
       



    ESSESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Provides leadership in developing and implementing strategic human resource initiatives aligned with division goals.
    • Develops and administers personnel policies, procedures, and the Employee Handbook.
    • Recommends School Board action as required for personnel functions.
    • Oversees and manages all recruitment, selection, and hiring processes for administrative, instructional, and support staff.
    • Develops and implements strategies to attract and retain highly qualified personnel.
    • Conducts reference checks and supports candidate evaluation processes.
    • Monitors staffing allocations, enrollment trends, and staffing ratios in collaboration with division leadership.
    • Manages employee relations by advising staff and supervisors, conducting investigations, and resolving workplace concerns.
    • Serves as the division contact for internal personnel investigations, in coordination with the Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent.
    • Ensures compliance with federal and state labor laws, including Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action regulations.
    • Supports and promotes a positive work environment across all departments.
    • Ensures compliance with state licensure requirements and works collaboratively with the Department of Education.
    • Oversees evaluation systems for all employees and maintains evaluation data.
    • Processes mid-year reports, contract recommendations, and employment actions, including non-renewals.
    • Advises on salary structures, conducts compensation studies, and oversees wage and salary programs.
    • Develops, reviews, and manages employee benefit plans.
    • Oversees benefits administration, stipends, leave programs, and the sick leave bank.
    • Administers Tuition Assistance and Employee Assistance Programs.
    • Coordinates and conducts new employee orientation in collaboration with division leadership.
    • Develops and facilitates professional development and training initiatives.
    • Conducts exit interviews and staff surveys to inform organizational improvements.
    • Develops and manages the Human Resources budget with a focus on fiscal responsibility.
    • Maintains personnel records and ensures proper documentation and record management.
    • Prepares reports, correspondence, and documentation related to HR functions.

    ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
