About the role:

Are you a dedicated, experienced youth worker seeking a fulfilling opportunity to guide and support teenage boys? Do you thrive in an afternoon and evening setting and want to be a vital part of a team committed to improving our community?

We are seeking a passionate, experienced Youth Specialist to join our team at a Youth Residential Program in Bellville, MI. We have full-time and part-time opportunities in a role that is essential for providing direct support, guidance, and security to youth in a supportive, structured residential environment.   

As a Youth Specialist, you will be a key role model and source of support for teenage boys residing in the program. Your primary shift will be afternoons (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM), with required weekend availability.

Services we provide

Spectrum Child and Family Services supports our community’s children and teens who are delinquent, have been neglected/abused or abandoned, are medically fragile, have multiple physical challenges, and may be dually diagnosed, or may display behavioral or emotional issues. Our programs support a population with constantly changing needs, and our goal is to strengthen and empower the families so they become self-sufficient, stable, and competent.


Qualifications

  • Education: A minimum of a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Transportation: Reliable, ongoing transportation is essential, as you will be required to provide transportation for the youth. 
  • Michigan Driver's License: Must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Clearances: Satisfactory results on an MDHS Central Registry Clearance and State Police Record Check.
  • Health: Satisfactory physical exam within one year of hire and a negative TB test
