GENERAL SUMMARY
Branch Manager is responsible for the overall success of the branch with a primary focus on retaining banking relationships and developing new business for the bank.
DIRECT REPORTS
Supervises the entire staff within the branch.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Management of and total accountability for a branch office in meeting administrative, Compliance, operational, sales and service, and profitability objectives of the bank.
i. Makes regular business development calls to solicit new business (loans, deposits) or improves services to clients.
ii. Oversees and/or trains/guides staff to provide clients with appropriate Bank products and services.
iii. Insures that staff members provide continuous quality service to clients.
iv. Represents the bank in the community through involvement in various civic and charitable activities.
v. Assures compliance with the bank’s policies and procedures.
vi. Maintains non-discriminatory practices in business.
* Sales & Service Responsibilities
i. Sets annual personal performance plan/goals and weekly sales plan/goals for the branch staff.
ii. Assesses sales results of the branch.
iii. Works with marketing dept. to develop sales programs and/or campaigns.
iv. Holds weekly sales/service meetings for briefings and debriefings.
v. Motivates staff to solicit sales and give commendable service.
vi. Supervises training of staff on product knowledge, sales and service techniques.
vii. Provides clients with appropriate bank products and services to meet the clients’ needs.
viii. Builds/enhances business relationship with clients.
* Lending Responsibilities
i. Makes business development calls to solicit loans.
ii. Maintains, promotes, enhances business relationship with clients.
* Administration Responsibilities
i. Sets annual budget and business goal for the branch.
ii. Monitors monthly income and control expense of the branch.
iii. Ensures a satisfactory branch overall audit.
iv. Monitors performance of the staff that are under the manager’s direct supervision. Coaches and counsels them when needed. Ensures proper guidance is given to those who indirectly report to branch management.
v. Arranges for appropriate training and cross training of staffs when needed.
vi. Addresses and resolves human resource issues when needed.
vii. Understands personnel policies and procedures and treat staffs fairly.
* Operations Responsibilities
i. Oversees/monitors performance of operations staff to ensure all policies/procedures are compliant with bank guidelines.
ii. Ensures a satisfactory branch audit is met.
* Authorities
i. Has designated authority to approve loans, overdrafts, checks, withdrawals, fee reversals, and other items.
ii. Signs official checks and other documents.
iii. Provides signature guaranty.
iv. Has authority to directly resolve errors and clients complaints.
v. Hires and terminates staff with the concurrence of senior management and Human Resources department personnel.
