Behavioral Technician (BT) – Job Posting Full-Time | ASD Waiver Services | In-Home & Community-Based

 

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Behavioral Technician (BT) to serve as a Life Skills Coach (LSC)/Community Mentor and Job Coach for individuals receiving Connecticut ASD Waiver services. This is a full-time, direct-support role providing in-home and community-based services to multiple clients.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, values consistency and structure, and understands the importance of following individualized plans and professional boundaries.

 

What You'll Do

  • Provide direct in-home and community-based supports aligned with each individual's Individualized Service Plan (ISP)
  • Support daily living skills, routines, communication, self-advocacy, and community integration
  • Implement existing behavior support strategies as written, without modification
  • Work with multiple clients throughout the week to ensure consistent service delivery
  • Complete, clear, timely documentation in accordance with ASD Waiver and agency requirements
  • Communicate observations and updates to the Program Manager professionally and promptly
  • Communicate observations and updates to the clinician (BCBA) professionally and promptly
  • Maintain respectful, professional relationships with individuals, families, and team members
  • Follow all agency policies related to safety, confidentiality, and service delivery

 

What This Role Is Not

  • This is not a clinical position
  • This role does not include creating or modifying behavior support plans
  • This position does not supervise other staff

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with ASD or developmental disabilities preferred
  • Ability to work independently while following written plans and supervision
  • Strong reliability, organization, and communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

 

Schedule & Work Expectations

Work hours vary based on client needs and operational demands and may include irregular, extended, or non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

This position is full-time and scheduled across multiple clients rather than assigned to a single individual.
