About the Department
The Intensive Deputy Attorney General (IDAG) Program includes project work throughout the legal divisions of the Office of the Indiana Attorney General. The IDAG will work closely with the respective attorneys throughout the legal divisions, to include accompanying them to court appearances, drafting legal briefs, conducting legal research, and participating in all phases of litigation.
Position Duties
- Participate in various trainings led by practitioners in the respective sections, to include Litigation, Appeals, Consumer Protection, Advisory, Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, and Solicitor General
- Each IDAG has a designated Deputy Attorney General mentor
- Participate in motion preparation and conduct depositions under supervision
- Write responses to petitions for habeas corpus and post-conviction relief
- Represent the State in licensing hearings
Minimum Qualifications
In order to apply for an IDAG position, candidate must achieve the following:
- 3L at accredited law school
- commit to taking the Indiana Bar Exam or the Uniform Bar Exam upon graduation
- minimum 3.0 GPA preferred

An IDAG will be considered for a Deputy Attorney General position once they are admitted to practice law in Indiana
Other Qualifications
Salary increase upon passing the Bar Exam.
Additional salary increase upon promotion into Deputy Attorney General position.
Position is eligible for benefits package.
