Description
Job Purpose:
Industrial electricians are responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical components and systems in factories, plants, and other industrial facilities.
What You’ll Do:
- Installing and wiring electrical systems, control panels, and industrial machinery.
- Troubleshooting electrical issues using diagnostic tools and testing devices.
- Performing preventive maintenance and inspections on transformers, circuit breakers, motors, and other equipment.
- Reading and interpreting technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to guide installations and repairs.
- Ensuring compliance with National Electrical Code, state, and local regulations.
- Conducting quality testing and documenting maintenance activities.
- Collaborating with teams or working independently to complete projects.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, associate degree or vocational training.
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent journeyman experience.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, industrial equipment, and hand tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
- Awareness of safety procedures and electrical codes.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Physical stamina to stand, climb, or crawl for extended periods and handle tools safely.
