General Atomics Systems Integration, LLC (GA-SI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a provider of military and commercial engineering services. GA-SI is a leading-edge expert in systems integration technologies, reliability improvements, and controls system design.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a MQ-9A support engineer at MCAS Cherry Point in North Carolina.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for providing on-site expertise in identifying issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolving questions beyond standard maintenance procedures and documentation available to the Fleet.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with the GA-ASI MQ-9A Engineering team in Poway, CA and with NAVAIR/USMC MQ-9A personnel at MCAS.
Interact on technical matters with MQ-9A fleet personnel, NAVAIR engineers, and the GA-ASI Engineering disciplines in Poway CA on a daily basis. Technical matters include but are not limited to: MQ-9 airframe, propulsion, electrical system, software, data links, and ground control segment.
May assume technical and engineering responsibility of the success of an identifiable project.
Directs activities of design or technical staff and may lead a team of moderately experienced professional staff.
Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices

Job Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, seven or more years of experience with a masters degree, or four or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
A strong understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory is required, along with experience applying these concepts broadly and a growing knowledge of related technical fields.
Must have excellent communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills; must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team; must be a self-starter and proactively identify and help coordinate resolution of technical issues.
