Job Description

USD 109 Republic County Schools is looking for a Technology Directory with the following Qualifications:

Location: District Office/School Buildings


 


Purpose: To provide leadership and support for the district’s technology infrastructure, systems, and services, ensuring reliable technology operations, data management, and support for educational needs across the district.


 


Terms of Employment: 12 Month as established by the employment contract: Annual salary and paid monthly. The contract can be terminated at will with 2 weeks’ notice. Paid leave, vacation, and holidays are noted in the classified handbook.  The Technology Director is on duty when the School District is closed.


 


Responsible to: Superintendent of Schools and Building Administrators


 


Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of non-certified personnel.


 


Qualifications:



  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • College degree or equivalent preferred; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant experience in technology, networking, or systems administration can substitute for a college degree..

  • Must have the ability to prioritize job tasks and meet established deadlines.

  • Have the ability to hear sufficiently to use a telephone.

  • Have the ability to use appropriate computer programs.

  • Able to work well with board members, employees, patrons, and other appropriate individuals or groups.

  • Able to respond to information requests in a courteous, timely, and helpful manner.

  • Understand confidentiality with school business, records, and personnel matters.

  • Desire to continue career improvement.


 


Essential Functions:



  • Experience with PowerSchool (student data systems), networking, server/switch maintenance, e-rate, resolving teacher needs, and tech planning.

  • Troubleshooting technical issues and repairing devices as needed.

  • Be aware of, and help the board comply with, all appropriate state and federal laws related to technology and data systems.

  • File all technology related reports with appropriate agencies as required by law and/or regulation

  • Supervise the management of the district’s technology infrastructure and systems.

  • Act as an advisor to the Superintendent on all questions relating to the technology and data systems of the district.

  • Administers technology budget control and planning for the district.

  • Assist with the development of the district technology budget and plans.

  • Enter data and assist in setting up information for technology systems as needed.

  • Maintain/Update technology policies and procedures in the district handbook as assigned.

  • Maintain/Update student and staff devices.

  • Support the district’s security cameras and door fob system.

  • Comply with all board policies and regulations in the Classified Staff Handbook.

  • Assist the Superintendent and office personnel as needed with technology support.


 


General Responsibilities:



  • Demonstrate punctuality.

  • Maintain accurate records of technology systems, configurations, and support activities.

  • Prepare reports and documentation related to technology initiatives and maintenance.

  • Maintain federal program records related to technology (e.g., E-rate) as requested and assist with funding applications.

  • Supports and assists other district staff as needed with technology issues.

  • With the Superintendent's supervision, handle technology investments, vendor relations, and ensure system security and backups.

  • Ensure backups of the district’s technology systems and data are complete and current.

  • Assist in technology-related duties, including troubleshooting, training, and support for staff.

  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
