The BAX Exhibition Catalog Designers are responsible for all aspects of the catalog's visual design, layout, and production, including: establishing the catalog's design direction, page layout, and typography; sourcing and preparing high-quality images of exhibited works; writing or editing captions, artist statements, and supplementary text; coordinating with exhibiting artists to ensure accurate representation of their work; and preparing the final press-ready PDF for electronic distribution.

The catalog designers must communicate regularly with one another, Department of Art and Film & Media Studies faculty, Grinnell College Museum of Art (GCMoA) staff, and the SEPCs to ensure design goals and exhibition objectives are met.
