Position: Adult Sports Assistant Supervisor

Department: Recreation Center

Supervisor: Adult Sports/ Assistant Rec Director

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Work Directly under the Adult Sports/ Assistant Rec Director
• Supervising all adult sports activities

Required Knowledge/skills and Abilities:

Knowledge/skills:

• Understanding the Sports that are put into place
• Running a score board
• Filling out time sheets
• Supervisory skills managing people

Ability to:

• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.

• Establish priorities for own workload based upon such factors as the need for immediate action and work objectives.
• Understand and comply with oral and written instructions in the English language.
• Communicate orally with co-workers in face-to-face one-on-one settings, or using a telephone or two-way radio.
• Work cooperatively with other City employees.
• Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
• Communicate to the Adult Sports/Assistant Rec Director

Work Environment:

• Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
• Sitting for extended period of time
• Able to work late hours
• Able to work different sport

Requirements:

• This position is subject to the City of Liberal�s Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy which includes one or more of the following: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, and follow-up testing.
• Ability to successfully pass a background check and any other pre-employment screenings.

Education and Experience

• Be able to read and write

Work schedule depends on the type of sport that is going on

Must be able to adjust schedule when needed
