Job Description

The Production Planning Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling production activities to ensure on-time delivery, optimal inventory levels, and efficient use of resources, in full compliance with Autoliv standards, customer requirements, and applicable quality systems.

Ensuring alignment between customer demand, production capacity, and supply chain capabilities, while supporting the company’s strategic objectives related to operational excellence, cost competitiveness, and customer satisfaction.

        Should you be interested in overseeing these tasks and aiming for enhanced performance standards, your role will involve:

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor short-, mid-, and long-term production plans in line with customer demand and capacity constraints.

  • Translate customer forecasts and firm orders into feasible production schedules.

  • Ensure on-time delivery performance while optimizing inventory levels (WIP, finished goods).

  • Coordinate closely with Production, Logistics, Purchasing, Quality, and Customer Service teams.

  • Monitor production capacity, identify constraints, and propose mitigation actions.

  • Maintain and update planning parameters in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, LES).

  • Analyze demand variations and manage production plan adjustments accordingly.

  • Track and report key planning KPIs (OTD, plan adherence, inventory).

  • Actively promote Autoliv’s core values, especially Safety First

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field

  • Experience in production planning within an automotive or industrial environment

  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP/SAP systems

  • Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles

  • Knowledge of IATF 16949

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Production planning, production control, or supply chain planning within a manufacturing environment (typically, 2–5 years)

  • Hands-on experience working with ERP/MRP systems (SAP or equivalent)

  • Experience managing customer demand, forecasts, and production priorities & inventory management

  • Experience monitoring and improving delivery performance (OTD) and plan adherence

  • Management, or a related technical field

  • Automotive Core tools

  • Customer Specific Requirements

  • SAP Certification or formal ERP/MRP system training (preferred)

  • French & English – required to be fluent (verbal and written)

  • Local language (if other than English) – preferred to be fluent (verbal and written)
