Job Description

2026 UGM Camp Summer Facilitator - Program Staff

June 1 - August 15, 2026

Seasonal Summer Position

Base Pay: $6,050 or $550 per week

Job Category: Camp, Youth, Temporary

 

OVERVIEW:

This job entails living on site at UGM camp for 11 weeks with all weekends off except for Saturday June 6th and August 15th. All lodging, food, training and equipment are provided free of charge for the full 11 weeks. UGM camp serves nearly 500 youth ages 8-12 from our areas poorest neighborhoods and shelters by providing a free 5-day camp for at-risk, low-income youth. Camp staff provide trust building and free time activities throughout the day and participate in meetings, chapels and bible studies throughout the week.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate low ropes and trust / team building activities for each cabin (training provided).
  • Supervise free time activities such as waterfront, archery, or field games.
  • Complete weekly assigned chores in maintaining the camp.
  • Assist in one of the following areas: nurse station, behavioral intervention or kitchen as an aid (training provided).
  • Function as encouragement and support for each cabin and their cabin leaders.
  • Participate in camp activities, chapels, meals, meetings and trainings.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Passion to work with children and youth.
  • Desire to work with at-risk, low-income populations.
  • Energetic, positive and willing to serve.
  • Some experience working in camp or youth work preferred.
  • Ability to swim.
  • Able to articulate a growing faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Adhere to UGM’s drug and tobacco-free policies, sexual purity, and engaged in a church community.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS:

Occasionally = 1%=33%; Frequently = 34%-66%; Continuously = 67%-100%

  • Work is indoors and outdoors and may require climbing stairs, sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and going from building to building - continuously.
  • Requires working with a diverse population, many of whom experience homelessness, addiction and mental illness - continuously.
  • Requires the ability to hear, see, and speak clearly - continuously.

OPTIONAL STIPENDS THAT MAY BE APPLIED FOR ONCE HIRED:

  • Camp Lifeguard $500 for summer
    • Responsibilities:
      • Responsible for oversight of the waterfront area located on the Spokane River.
    • Required Qualifications: 
      • Washington State Lifeguard Certification
      • CPR Certification
  • Camp Speaker Internship $1,000 for summer
    • Responsibilities:
      • Responsible for planning 4-7 Camp Lessons with the Director of Youth Outreach.
      • Attend camp chapels with necessary.
      • Responsible for teaching camp lessons at camp chapels assigned.
    • Required Qualifications:
      • Willingness for public speaking.
      • Ability to take direction and feedback from the Director of Youth Outreach.
      • Desire to be in ministry in the future.
      • Experience leading a group of students.
