Position Summary: Under the leadership and direction of the Camp Director, Summer Camp Counselors are responsible for ensuring camper safety, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for our campers, and implementing lesson plans and activities. We offer numerous types of camps in English, French, Chinese, and Spanish. Our camps are for children ages 3-15, are each a week long, and run Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm throughout the summer. Our Summer Programs run from June 8th-August 7th. There are no camps June 19th and July 3rd, 2026 in observance of July 4th, 2026.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead or Assist in Activities: Follow lesson plans and guide campers through age-appropriate activities that promote creativity, teamwork, and fun. Tailor activities to meet the unique needs and interests of campers, fostering a positive and engaging environment.
Create a Safe, Inclusive Environment: Ensure a safe physical and emotional space for campers, adhering to all safety guidelines and camp policies. Promote an inclusive atmosphere where every camper feels respected and valued.
Supervise Camper Behavior: Consistently enforce camp rules and routines, redirecting undesirable behavior with patience and empathy. Provide support and guidance to ensure that campers can thrive socially and emotionally.
Accident & Incident Reporting: Immediately report any accidents to the Camp Director and fill out required health or accident forms accurately and in a timely manner.
Sign-In/Sign-Out Process: Ensure proper sign-in and sign-out procedures are followed each day to maintain camper safety.
Staff Meetings & Training: Attend mandatory staff meetings, in-services, and any scheduled training sessions to stay informed and contribute to team efforts.
Maintain Camp Supplies & Equipment: Take responsibility for the care and upkeep of camp materials and equipment, ensuring everything is in good working order and ready for use.
Engage with Campers, Parents, and Staff: Build strong, positive relationships with campers, parents/guardians, and fellow staff members. Communicate effectively and with enthusiasm.
Demonstrate Responsibility & Professionalism: Exhibit leadership qualities and professionalism at all times, setting an example for campers and fellow staff members.
Field Trip Safety & Attendance: Supervise campers during off-site field trips, ensuring accurate attendance counts at all times, following established safety procedures, and maintaining clear communication with the Camp Director/Assistant Camp Director and fellow staff to support a safe and organized experience.
After-Care Supervision: Assist with after-care duties twice a week (3:45 pm – 5:30 pm) to ensure campers are supervised and cared for in a safe and engaging manner.
Additional Duties: Take on any other tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the Camp Management team.

Required Experience:
One year of childcare experience
18 years of age (Junior Camp Counselors must be 16 years of age)
Proficiency in Spanish, French, or Chinese (preferred, not required)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle, reach with hands and arms, see, talk, and hear. The employee may occasionally be required to bend, stoop, kneel and lift items weighing up to 20 pounds.
Salary Range:
Junior Camp Counselors - $20/hr
Assistant Camp Counselors - $21/hr
Lead Camp Counselors - $23/hr
Location and Schedule: Our camps run Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm. Summer Programs run from June 8th-August 7th, 2026. There are no camps June 19th or July 3rd. This job does not have remote work flexibility. Required in-person training will take place on June 5th and 6th, 2026.
For those looking for additional hours, there are opportunities to work pre-camp the last few weeks in May and post-camp in August.
