Are you an experienced Warehouse Manager looking for an amazing new opportunity? We are looking for a new team member to join our team and be part of something great! Your role will oversee all activities, manage and direct warehouse, receiving, and distribution services and staff, and ensure that all aspects of the company’s warehousing procedures operate at maximum potential. You will also analyze and react to methods available to improve efficiency.
A warehouse manager oversees all daily operations within a warehouse, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods by managing inventory levels, coordinating shipping and receiving activities, leading warehouse team members, and maintaining safety standards while optimizing space and equipment usage to meet delivery deadlines and customer demands; they also typically handle staff scheduling, training, and performance management, while collaborating with other departments to maintain smooth logistics flows.
What does your day look like? Some of your duties may include:
- Inventory control:
- Monitoring stock levels, managing stock rotations, and ensuring accurate inventory counts.
- Receiving and shipping operations:
- Overseeing the process of receiving incoming goods, checking quality and quantity, and coordinating outbound shipments.
- Order fulfillment:
- Processing customer orders, picking and packing items, and preparing them for dispatch.
- Team management:
- Hiring, training, and supervising warehouse staff, assigning tasks, and monitoring performance.
- Warehouse layout and space optimization:
- Designing efficient storage locations and optimizing warehouse space utilization.
- Quality control:
- Ensuring products are handled properly and meet quality standards.
- Logistics coordination:
- Collaborating with transportation providers to schedule deliveries and manage shipments.
- Health and safety compliance:
- Enforcing safety procedures and maintaining a safe working environment in the warehouse.
- Reporting and analysis:
- Generating reports on key performance indicators like inventory levels, productivity, and shipping accuracy.
- Technology management:
- Utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technology to streamline operations.
Things you need to be able to do:
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must be able to be exposed to a refrigerated and freezer environment, ranging from 0 - 36 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and warehouse technology
- Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations
- Basic understanding of logistics and supply chain management
- Must be able to lift to 75 lbs. Carry up to 50 lbs. Push/Pull up to 30 lbs. of force. Ascend and descend a step with a height of 10 in. From the floor.
- Able to work in a cold environment for an extended period of time.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to reach bend.
Things that are a plus:
- 3 to 5 years of management experience required. 5 years of warehouse experience.
- One-year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to follow directions and meet deadlines and be able to work under minimal supervision.
