GPI Geospatial is seeking a Survey Technician with strong survey data processing experience, particularly in Leica Infinity (Infiniti), to support high-profile transportation and infrastructure projects in the Miami area, including work requiring familiarity with FDOT standards and deliverables. This role is primarily office-based and centers on processing, quality-checking, and preparing survey deliverables for project teams.

What You’ll Do:

  • Process and manage survey data received from field crews (GNSS, total station, digital levels, etc.), including importing, organizing, and troubleshooting datasets.
  • Perform survey computations and adjustments in Leica Infinity (Infiniti) (e.g., network adjustments, QA/QC checks, exporting deliverables).
  • Review data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements; document QC steps and resolve discrepancies with the field team.
  • Draft and support the production of survey deliverables using CAD platforms (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar) aligned to internal production standards.
  • Assist with the preparation of survey reports, exhibits, and technical documentation for engineering and construction teams.
  • Support FDOT-related project needs such as formatting, deliverable packaging, and coordination with project leadership to meet submittal requirements.
  • Collaborate with surveyors, project managers, and engineers to meet schedules, budgets, and quality expectations.
  • Maintain organized digital files and follow company standards for file naming, archiving, and document control.
  • Provide occasional support for GIS-related tasks and integration of survey data into CAD/GIS environments, as needed.

What You Bring (Minimum Qualifications):

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience processing survey data in Leica Infinity (Infiniti).
  • Experience supporting FDOT transportation/infrastructure projects and familiarity with FDOT deliverable expectations.
  • Working knowledge of CAD production (AutoCAD Civil 3D required or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and documentation habits.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate in a team environment.
  • xperience working on Florida transportation corridor projects in the Miami/Dade area (roadway/bridge/interchange, design-build, or construction support).
  • Familiarity with Florida coordinate systems/datums and common survey data exchange workflows between field crews, CAD, and engineering teams.
  • Additional software exposure (e.g., point cloud workflows, GIS tools) is a plus.

 

Requirements

  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to
  • communicate with other team members
  • Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working 
  • Able to move equipment or inspection specimens weighing up to 50 pounds
