    School Nurse � Robert R. Lazar Middle School - Tenure Track (2026-27)


    Reports To: Principal and Supervisor of Athletics, Health & Physical Education

    Job Goal:
    To promote a safe and healthy school environment by providing comprehensive health services to students, faculty, and staff, while supporting and reinforcing sound health practices throughout the school community.

    Qualifications:

    • Valid New Jersey School Nurse Certificate
    • Demonstrated knowledge of school health nursing practices and emergency procedures
    • Understanding of child growth and development, family and community dynamics, and current health and wellness issues
    • Familiarity with community health and social service resources, with the ability to collaborate effectively with outside agencies and professionals
    • Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Deliver direct nursing care and first aid to students and staff
    • Manage student health records and ensure compliance with state regulations
    • Respond to medical emergencies and implement appropriate procedures
    • Promote health education and wellness initiatives
    • Collaborate with families, staff, and external health professionals to support student needs

    Salary and Benefit: Salary is determined in accordance with the MTEA agreement salary guides, available on the district's website (www.montville.net). The position includes a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage, sick and personal leave.
