CORA Services is seeking an Assistant Teacher to work in our Early Childhood program located in the Fox Chase section of Northeast Philadelphia.
This is a full-time, 12-month position and the schedule is Monday - Friday from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM working with our 3-5 year old children.
Assistant Teacher Pay Rate:
- $15.51 with CDA or enrolled in BA ECE program + 2 years prior experience
- $15.97 with AA degree in Early Childhood Ed
- $16.43 with BA in ECE
Rate commensurate with experience and credentialing
HOURS: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

In addition, as an Assistant Teacher your duties will include:
- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing educational lesson plans based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards, in conjunction with the OCDEL-approved curriculum.
- Participate in individual and group activities to actively engage children and encourage cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Adhere to schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime.
- Ensure a safe and healthy learning environment including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
- Help to monitor growth and development of children based on established learning objectives using age-appropriate assessment tools.
- Establish positive relationships with parents and maintain frequent communication about student's growth and progress through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Participate collaboratively and professionally with other teachers and staff to promote the general well-being of the Early Years program.
- Help with center-wide events, Food program, preparation for assessments and audits, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- CDA required; AA in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Minimum of two years documented experience working with an early childhood population.
- Passion and skill for working with children.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with children, colleagues, and families.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- Understanding of child development.
- Familiarity with Keystone STARS standards and DHS regulations preferred.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid Certification.- CORA will pay for certification if hired
