Position Overview
The Clerk 3 (ADM04) plays a key administrative and operational support role within the Public Works department. Reporting under broad supervision, this position involves performing a variety of assignments that require specialized knowledge, sound judgment, and decision-making—particularly when handling exceptions to established policies and procedures.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounting transactions and manage SAP-related activities
- Handle and process access permits efficiently and accurately
- Supervise and provide direction to administrative or clerical staff as required
- Oversee daily office operations to ensure smooth workflow
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Verify and process documents in accordance with established procedures
- Manage inventory tracking and control
- Coordinate distribution of inter-office mail and communications
- Address administrative issues and resolve discrepancies using judgment and established guidelines
Qualifications & Requirements
- Completion of Grade XI (or equivalent)
- Minimum of four (4) years of related experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Experience with SAP or similar financial systems is an asset
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities
- Effective communication and leadership skills
