Description
- Provide prompt, courteous customer service.
- Ringing up all sales on the POS properly and accurately, handling money, debit, and credit transactions.
- Perform all cleaning duties as necessary to maintain cleanliness.
- Label and date all food stored/rotate as needed.
- Ensuring the quick preparation of the food requested, and delivering the same to the customer in a timely manner.
- Notify management about equipment issues.
- Accurately stamps, marks or tags price on merchandise
- Must be able to follow basic recipes and cooking methods for all food preparation according to food handler’s guidelines
- Follows sanitation practices, safe food storage, and correct procedures for handling refrigerated, frozen and dry stored items. Uses sharp objects to cut food items.
- Assist during inventory counts per company standards.
- Reports any food items that need to be ordered or any spoilage of product to the supervisor.
- Demonstrate and explain the proper way to use products and any accessories that come with them, answering any questions, and addressing any concerns the customer might have;
- Provide exemplary customer service throughout the shift by effectively listening to customers to gain a thorough understanding of what they need and make tailored recommendations;
- Examine sales floor to ensure merchandise is well-stocked, well-maintained, and properly rotated;
- Process business transactions, handle cash, process debit/credit cards following company guidelines;
- Perform general janitorial duties during shift, which consists of sweeping, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, and organizing various work areas;
- In addition to the Retail Clerk duties when scheduled at the convenience store employees will be required to perform additional tasks.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience in a customer service position accepting cash/debit or credit cards, making change, and safeguarding funds;
- Capable of multi-tasking, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with customers and employees in a professional manner.
- At least 21 years of age to comply with regulatory requirements, and obtain and maintain required certifications;
- Must have knowledge and ability to use kitchen equipment, safely break down, clean and reassemble equipment.
- Able to perform basic math, writing, and reading tasks without supervision;
- Able to comfortably stand for extended periods of time, constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, bending, and climbing a ladder at times;
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Available to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays when required;
