Description

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of a clinical services housing team comprised of a licensed social worker and four case managers.  Each staff manages a caseload of approximately 12 individuals who were formerly living on the street and in subways in New York City. This position has significant decision making, supervisory, administrative, program management and service delivery responsibilities including but not limited to site management, program development, inter-team coordination and contract/policy compliance.  This person will be expected to participate in and contribute to a program culture that is client-centered, outcome-oriented and dedicated to continuous quality improvement. The position requires a thorough understanding of relevant service delivery concepts and structures, including strong knowledge and experience working with the street homeless population.

 

The Uptown/SSAP Program is a scattered-site apartment initiative serving single adults aged 18 and older with a history of mental health diagnoses, including co-occurring substance use disorders, and a history of chronic homelessness. Apartments are located throughout Washington Heights, Harlem, the Bronx, and Lower Manhattan, with the program’s main office based in East Harlem.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Clinical and administrative supervision of day to day operations of the building and clinical services team
  • Oversight of the program’s contractual obligations
  • Maintenance of appropriate staff levels to ensure consistent service delivery to clients
  • Review of referrals from outreach teams and coordination of intake
  • Collaboration with building management and security staff around maintenance and other site-related matters
  • On-call support to the program during evening and weekend hours

  • Master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, public administration, public health, human services, psychology, or related field required
  • 2 Years relevant pre or post Master’s experience, required
  • Post Master’s experience preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Acceleration: LMSW or Mental Health Counselor Limited Permit or Marriage and Family Therapy Limited Permit will count towards 1 year pre or post Masters experience 
Clinical Supervisor 2
  • Master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, public administration, public health, human services, psychology, or related field required
  • 3 Years relevant pre or post Master’s experience, required
  • 1 year Supervisory experience in any field, required
  • Post Master’s Experience preferred
  • Acceleration: LMSW or Mental Health Counselor Limited Permit or Marriage and Family Therapy Limited Permit will count towards 1 year pre or post Masters
Clinical Supervisor 3
  • 2 years supervisory experience in any field required
  • 4 years relevant pre or post Master’s experience in social services required
  • Post Master’s experience preferred
  • Acceleration: LMSW or Mental Health Counselor Limited Permit or Marriage and Family Therapy Limited Permit will count towards 1 year pre or post Masters experience 
  • Or
  • Upon obtaining LCSW, LMHC, LMFT
  • Master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, public administration, public health, human services, psychology, or related field required
Clinical Supervisor 4
  • LCSW, LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) plus 2 years post license experience
  • 2 years pre or post-master’s experience in supervisory experience

Or

  • Master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, public administration, public health, human services, psychology, or related field required
  • 4 years supervisory experience in any field required
  • 6 years relevant pre or post Master’s experience in social services required
  • Post Master’s experience preferred
  • Acceleration: LMSW or Mental Health Counselor Limited Permit or Marriage and Family Therapy Limited Permit will count towards 1 year pre or post Masters experience
