Duties

As a Security Specialist, you will: Manage an overall technical program from a headquarters perspective that encompasses safeguards and security disciplines within the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP) including personnel security, classified, and controlled classified information protection, industrial security, and physical security. Oversee planning, project managing, and tracking and coordinating various projects; serve as a technical authority for planning and implementing a coordinated Naval Reactors security management program. Provide oversight for the development, justification, defense, and execution of the NNPPs security and safeguards budget. Generate new program technical security management and administrative principles, develop original security concepts applicable to new or emerging Program security functions, and plan and evaluate extensive long-rage security projects. Evaluate and manage field activities and government laboratories performance practices and develop and implement policies and procedures for the protection of controlled unclassified or classified information.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level NQ-02 or GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following: One year of experience at the GS-12 level (or equivalent) which demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and experience regarding regulations, policies and procedures of personnel security, industrial security, physical security, and the protection of classified information.
