Job Description

Heavy Equipment Operator


Job Duties

 

• Operates various types of equipment and machinery, such as forklifts, loaders, excavators, skid steers, cranes, or other specialized tools for moving materials, loading/unloading, and site preparation.

• Assists the crew in tasks such as foundation preparation, digging, grading, material handling, clearing areas, laying materials (e.g., pipes or concrete), and operating machinery to support the work.

• Performs routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, reporting defects or necessary repairs to the supervisor; ensures equipment is kept clean and in good working order.

• Adheres to all safety protocols and security standards to maintain a safe work environment.

• Keeps work areas clean and organized by collecting and disposing of scrap and excess materials.

• Actively communicates with supervisors and coworkers to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.

• Completes required paperwork, logs, reports, or other documentation as necessary.



Requirements


• 3+ years of experience working with equipment or machinery

• Knowledge of equipment operation and relevant safety standards

• Strong attention to detail and awareness of surroundings to maintain a safe work environment

• Clean driving record

• CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is preferred but not required
