Job Description

Position Overview:

Provides supervision to WAY Home Coaches who provide services to adolescents served at The Children's Village residential programs. WAY Coach Supervisor, works to recruit, engage, and support the young people of the Girls of WAY program. The supervisor will empower, inspire, and motivate the coaches to achieve programmatic goals. WAY Coach supervisor will oversee workshops monthly where youth participating in the program will strengthen their independent living skills. Knowledge of city-wide community resources is required. Supervisor will be responsible for attending Fair Futures monthly training and calls, Soul care monthly calls, monitor and support the coaches, 1:1 coaching, and assisting in areas of housing, education, employment, and permanency with emphasis on social and networking development. The goal of the program is to help build positive peer relationships and strengthen social transitions for young people exiting foster/residential care.

Position Qualifications:

Bachelor's Required, master’s preferred. Minimum 3 years or more experience working with at-risk youth. Demonstrate initiative and creativity, particularly with adolescents. Demonstrate experience in group work. Demonstrate understanding of the issues of the NYC community. Demonstrate understanding of the issues facing Black and Latino adolescents. Ability to work as a team member and independently. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with youth and staff. Demonstrate ability to effectively use a multi-cultural approach in working with special needs youth. Excellent oral communication skills. Valid NYS driver’s license required.
