The Quality Control Engineer will be embedded within project teams, working closely with Project Management and Superintendent staff to ensure compliance with quality standards on a project-specific basis. This role focuses on maintaining the quality of construction activities, documentation, and processes, while actively addressing quality issues to support project success.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement project-specific quality plans, ensuring alignment with client and organizational standards.
- Review project drawings and specifications to confirm compliance with quality requirements.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction activities, perform inspections, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Provide on-the-job guidance and coaching to project staff, subcontractors, and vendors regarding quality requirements and processes.
- Facilitate pre-installation meetings, mock-up reviews, and ensure alignment of quality expectations with all stakeholders.
- Identify and proactively resolve quality-related challenges, including constructability issues, promptly.
- Analyze quality performance data to identify trends, generate reports, and recommend process improvements.
- Share lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle to reduce rework and improve quality outcomes.
- Act as the primary point of contact for quality issues on assigned projects, providing clear communication and actionable solutions to stakeholders.
- Maintain proper documentation of quality activities for audits and project close-out requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of experience in field supervision, quality control, safety acumen, and production of all phases of construction.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
- Occasional heavy lifting (20 + lbs./13.6 + kg) can be expected, though exertion of up to 10lbs of force is more common.
- Strong manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment (e.g., computers, mobile devices, copiers, etc.).
- The job is performed indoors in a construction office and at job sites (indoors and outside). Protective/safety gear (e.g., hard hat, glasses, etc.) is required while on-site. Activities include extended periods of sitting, movement, and extensive work at a computer and phone.
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of the job site in all types of weather, if needed; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
