Retail Rescue Onboarding Coordinator

Help Turn Surplus Food Into Meals for Our Communities

The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York is seeking a Retail Rescue Onboarding Coordinator to help expand one of our most impactful hunger-relief programs. In this role, you will build relationships with retail food partners across our 23-county service area, helping connect grocery stores and retailers with local agencies that distribute nutritious food to neighbors in need.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys relationship-building, community outreach, and program development, and who wants to play a meaningful role in reducing food waste and fighting hunger.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the onboarding of new retail partners into the Retail Rescue Program
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retail stores and partner agencies
  • Conduct outreach to expand program participation across rural, suburban, and urban communities
  • Serve as the primary contact for new partners, providing guidance and support
  • Work with the Data Analytics team to match stores with partner agencies and track donation performance
  • Monitor donation activity and support reporting on program growth and effectiveness
  • Ensure accurate partner information in donor and inventory systems
  • Identify opportunities to improve program operations and partner engagement
  • Support partner recognition and communication efforts

What We're Looking For

  • Associate degree or 2+ years of related experience
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work with data and collaborate with analytics teams
  • Experience in the food industry or nonprofit sector is a plus
  • Valid New York State driver's license

Work Environment

This role involves regular travel throughout the Food Bank's 23-county service area and time spent in retail stores and warehouse environments. Duties may include walking, standing, lifting up to 40 pounds, and exposure to refrigerated or freezer environments during store visits.

Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
