  2. Knowledge of and ability to implement the subject matter, philosophical, social, and educational concepts relative to the duties and responsibilities listed on this job description

  3. Has received training on the ELA/ELD standards and is knowledgeable on how to establish language objectives for English learners

  4. Ability to implement a variety of research based teaching strategies that engage students and promote a growth mindset

    1. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    2. As a Director of Learning

      1. Planning for instruction (small group and individual)

        1. Teaches reading and English language development using digital curriculum.

        2. Provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil

        3. Creates an effective environment for child-centered learning and shows empathy for students learning English



    3. Teaching results – evaluation

      1. Evaluates student’s academic growth through frequent monitoring of online reports and adjusts instructional lessons based on student data. on his expectancy; keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports

      2. Communicates with parents through a variety of means to discuss pupil progress in English or Spanish as required

      3. Relationships

          1. Creates and maintains an active, responsive climate for learning through positive teacher-student rapport and helps child to develop a positive self-image

Requirements / Qualifications

The purpose of English learner summer school is to support students that have not progressed in English language proficiency. Teacher candidates must be knowledgeable in English language acquisition and effective EL pedagogy and implement research based teaching strategies in their classroom.

Salary Info

$49.81/hour

San Marcos Elementary School (Grades 1-5)

School Dates: Include Sessions and prep day
Prep Day: June 12th (8:30 am – 3:00 pm)
Instruction Days: June 15th – July 2nd, 2026 (8:00 am- 12:00 pm)
No School – June 19th, 2026

Staff Hours:
Prep Day: June 12th (8:30 am – 3:00 pm)
June 15th – July 2nd, 2026 (8:00 am- 12:00 pm)

Student Hours:
8:00 am - 8:30 am - Arrival/Breakfast
8:30 am – 11:30 am - Instruction Time
11:30 am – 12:00 pm (Lunch/Dismissal)
