Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Robotic Fitting and Welding Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of robotic welding systems to produce high-quality metal components and assemblies according to engineering specifications. This role requires a blend of hands-on welding knowledge and technical aptitude to ensure efficient, safe, and quality production.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Technical diploma or certification in welding technology, robotics, or manufacturing preferred.
· Additional training in mechanical systems, CAD/CAM, and quality inspection or automation programming is a plus

QUALIFICATIONS
· 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing and 3D modeling or a related field.
· Hands-on experience operating or programming robotic welding systems (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA, TEKLA).
· Prior experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, welding symbols, technical drawings and work orders required.
· ERP software experience preferred.
· Forklift or pallet jack operation experience a plus.
· Bilingual (Spanish/English – read, write, and speak) preferred.
· Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, welding symbols, technical drawing, AWS standards and processes.
· Ability to set up, calibrate, and operate robotic welding systems, including parameter selection (voltage, current, wire feed, travel speed).
· Skilled in programming or modifying robotic weld paths using specialized software (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, TEKLA, ZEMANS or equivalent).
· Strong understanding of weld quality requirements - penetration, bead profile, and dimensional accuracy.
· Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
· Solid mechanical and troubleshooting skills for robotic and welding equipment.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
· Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in fast-paced production environments.
· Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, and production).
· Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
· Positive attitude and adaptability to evolving production requirements.
· Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Set up, calibrate, and operate robotic welding systems.
· Position, align, and secure parts in fixtures; adjust welding parameters (voltage, current, wire feed, travel speed) to meet job specifications.
· Modify existing or develop new robotic welding programs, 3D Modeling using manufacturer software (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, TEKLA, ZEMANS).
· Optimize welding paths and parameters for efficiency and quality.
· Monitor weld quality throughout production; perform visual and dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments.
· Ensure welds meet penetration, bead appearance, and dimensional accuracy per specifications.
· Identify and correct minor malfunctions, system issues, or part misalignments.
· Conduct routine preventive maintenance (cleaning tips, replacing wires, checking sensors) to maximize equipment uptime.
· Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to determine setup, weld sequence, and specifications.
· Follow all safety protocols and use required PPE (welding helmets, gloves, protective eyewear, etc.).
· Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.
· Accurately record production data, weld settings, inspection results, and maintenance logs.
· Communicate with engineers and quality teams to improve processes and resolve production issues.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to complete administrative documentation, read and complete production orders, Quality Assurance, and manufacturing documentation.
Ability to operate various machines and assist with training individuals on machine operations.
Ability to participate in audits, incident investigations, etc., as needed.
Ability to maintain good attendance, punctuality, follow shop foreman’s instructions, and work overtime hours, as requested.
Ability to assist other machine operators, as required, and perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Ability to perform miscellaneous job functions to assist with administration and production operations, as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Full time shop exposure.
2. Extreme temperatures. (Sometimes due to season).
3. Perform work standing up for 8-10 hours per day and up to 7 days a week.
4. Good vision, hearing, smell and balance.
5. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
6. Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat or kneel regularly as well as climb stairs and ladders.

SCHEDULED WORK HOURS AND TIMES
· Monday - Friday 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM. SATURDAYS as needed.
· Will require training at our Fort Worth Plant for a period of two months prior to starting at our Rhome, Texas facility.
