We are seeking a BMP/Stormwater Construction Group Leader to join our growing team in Concord, CA. In this role, you’ll coordinate hiring and oversee the crews installing stormwater BMPs. You’ll work closely with our internal stormwater team and ensure crews correctly install/remove BMPs as required by the SWPPP while ensuring all safety requirements are followed.

The Construction Group Leader manages a diverse portfolio of construction activities—including erosion control, stormwater BMP installation, hydroseeding, right‑of‑way clearing, fencing, and emergency response—supporting utility, transportation, and municipal clients throughout California.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and execute the vision for environmental and civil construction operations, building and scaling high‑performing BMP and field teams
  • Oversee a diverse portfolio of work, including stormwater BMP installation and removal, erosion control, hydroseeding, right‑of‑way clearing, fencing, and emergency response for utility and municipal clients
  • Manage existing BMP work performed by subcontractors while developing in‑house capabilities; direct subcontractor crews and conduct periodic safety audits
  • Hire, train, and lead superintendents and field crews, fostering a strong safety culture and high‑quality field execution
  • Apply strong technical knowledge of stormwater and erosion control practices, including CASQA‑based requirements, to plan work and schedule crews in a dynamic environment
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, and resources to maintain schedules, compliance, and profitability across projects
  • Review and approve timecards, field reports, schedules, and project correspondence to support accurate tracking and operational efficiency
  • Enforce health and safety standards to prevent injury‑related shutdowns and promptly escalate issues to the Project Manager or Chief Safety Officer

What You’ll Bring:

  • Associate degree or relevant experience in environmental or construction projects
  • 7+ years of experience in the construction industry
  • 3+ years of experience in construction site management
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong commitment to completing work safely
  • Experience scheduling multiple jobsites/resources daily
  • Ability to commute to job sites and travel long distances and overnight as needed

Preferred:

  • Experience installing BMPs
  • QSP, QSD, QISP, or CHST certification
  • PMP certification
  • Fluent in Spanish

Salary Range:

The minimum salary for this position is $115,000 (negotiable based on the criteria presented above).
