Job Summary: Performs nursing and related activities of the Day Surgery , Endoscopy , & PACU Units.

Qualifications/Reporting:

Required minimum education: Graduate of a Professional Nursing School.

Required minimum experience: One-year experience of critical care preferred. Minimum time required to function effectively in this position is six to twelve months.

Required skills (if applicable): Knowledge of principles, terminology, standard practices, methods regarding Day Surgery procedures. Leadership abilities and effective oral and written communication skills.

Must be willing to learn other areas of the OR, DSU, circulate during cases, and Endoscopy. Must be able to transport patients to other areas of the hospital, ICU and Med/Surg. Must be able to start IVs and work independently.

Required license/certification: Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas. Current in CPR. ACLS certification required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is preferred.
