Responsibilities
At Taco Bell, we aren’t just looking for candidates. We are looking for dynamic, disruptive, visionary problem-solvers that have a passion for innovation and the ability to lead cross- functional teams of associates across multiple disciplines. As the Development Manager for China, you will be responsible to provide input to the Development Strategy in collaboration with Yum China, and to support the overall Design & Construction process to ensure high quality new store openings.
A key aspect of this position is fostering strong franchisee relationships and influencing skills as well as the ability to develop cross-functional relationships with the Taco Bell International team. They will drive positive change and relentlessly look for opportunities to make TB relevant and help establish a new brand in the hearts and minds of consumers in the market.
The Day to Day
Development strategy
• Provide input on strategic market map, target trade zones and sites in collaboration with China and International teams
• Visit shortlisted sites and document for sharing with International team
• Provide input and recommendation on current portfolio, including potential remodels, exterior touch-up
Design & Construction
• Provide Taco Bell templates and international best practices for sharing with China team
• Review and coordinate design for new stores: link between China and International teams to ensure locally relevant design
• Ensure on-brand construction execution: support and approve locally sourced materials that align with brand design
• Coordinate BOH optimization: link between China and cross-functional international teams on layout and equipment changes
Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in a business or property related field
10+ years’ post-qualification experience in multi-site retail environments
Proven experience managing projects in a franchise retail environment
Proven experience in:
Market mapping
Site identification
Restaurant design
Construction project management
Proven ability to lead, influence, and build relationships across the organization and
with senior external stakeholders
Proven drive for results and commitment to high standards of work
Proficiency in process-oriented work with the capacity for strategic thinking
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Strong problem-solving skills, project management expertise and commercial acumen
Team player with a motivated, flexible working attitude
