Role Summary
The Labourer position is a full time regular position on our construction site. This position reports to the Site Superintendent and works closely alongside other team members in a collaborative manner. All work performed must comply within BlueCity’s high quality standards of quality workmanship. BlueCity employees all work to ensure their work is done in a safe and timely manner.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform daily site maintenance tasks to ensure the site is clean
- Maintain a professional project site by collecting garbage and ensuring garbage collection bins are used efficiently
- Assist project site team members upon request by fulfilling all work requests
- Maintain understanding and ensure compliance with BlueCity’s safety program
- Operate and maintain labourer tools and equipment, ensure all equipment is in operating condition before use
- Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to & from work areas
- Perform comprehensive house cleaning duties on the interior and exterior of homes to ensure the home is clean and presentable at all times
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning, training and professional development
- Perform other related duties as required
Education & Experience
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year experience as a labourer in the construction industry with basic knowledge and use of hand tools and power tools.
- Level 2 First Aid an asset. Ability to maintain a positive professional attitude and work in a fast paced environment.
- Experience in large projects would be an asset. Must have a satisfactory criminal record check.
