Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Works as a collaborative engineering team member, applying engineering principles to develop design solutions, according to Ranpak standards and compliances like CE
- Cooperates with other engineering departments like mechanical and electrical, being able to discuss machine functionalities on abstract level resulting in a joint solution
- Ensuring seamless integration of the PLC and HMI with other automation components such as sensors, drives and communication systems with a high level op completeness and accuracy
- Develops PLC logic from prototype till reliable and maintainable solution for serial production
- Testing and commissioning software with focus on IO-checks, drives, machine function and networks
- Interacts with other departments, vendors, suppliers, to select components that comply with machine requirements and specifications
- Participates in design projects, customized products, existing product maintenance, quality improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Automation or Informatica or related field
- At least 12 years of proven experience in PLC engineering of automation machines, in cooperation with electric and mechanical engineering
- Knowledge of program and configure PLC systems with HMI (e.g. Beckhoff, Siemens, Omron) to automate process equipment, according to global standards
- Capable to develop PLC logic from prototype till reliable and maintainable solution for serial production
- Experienced with programming code languages like Structered text and execute the job in a structured way
- Knowledge of integrations in industrial networks with Profinet, OPC UA
- Eager to implement best practices of other machine builders
- Self-motivated and innovative, yet an exceptional product development team player. Stay up to date with trends in automation and introduce new technologies and systems and willing to implement best practices.
- Strong communication skills in the Dutch and English language and problem solving skills.
- Willing to travel up to 5% of the time
